Big Reds Aussie Adventures

Helping lives heal through connection, mateship, and outdoor adventure.

Big Reds Aussie Adventures supports Australian Defence Force veterans, first responders, and others doing it tough, through structured fishing, boating, and recovery experiences on the water.

Our Purpose

Why we exist.

Big Reds Aussie Adventures Inc. exists to support Australian Defence Force veterans, first responders, and other Australians experiencing mental-health hardship, trauma, emotional distress, or social isolation.

Through structured outdoor recovery experiences, peer support, mateship, and community connection, we aim to reduce isolation, restore dignity, rebuild resilience, and renew hope for those doing it tough.

Our Focus

Our focus is providing safe, supportive, and needs-based programs that assist veterans and first responders who are struggling with the impacts of trauma, service-related hardship, mental-health challenges, and loss of wellbeing.

Big Reds delivers structured fishing, boating, outdoor recovery activities, peer mentoring, facilitated storytelling, and follow-up support designed to strengthen connection, wellbeing, and recovery in a supportive community environment.

What we do

Recovery on the water.

The fishing is the excuse. What we're really there for is the talking, the laughs, and getting out of your own head for a bit.

On-water recovery

Skipper-led fishing and boating trips. Gear sorted, no experience needed. Just turn up.

Peer mentoring

People who've walked the same road. They'll be there before the trip, on the day, and after you've gone home.

Follow-up that matters

We check in after every trip. What happens off the water counts as much as what happens on it.

With thanks to

Our sponsors & supporters

The trips don't happen without the people backing them. Cheers to the businesses keeping us on the water.

The boat's not always out. Between trips, this is where we live.

Know a mate who's doing it tough?

Reach out, even if you're not sure. Trips are free and we'll work around what each person needs. You can apply on their behalf or just have a yarn first.
